Coolant System Maintenance

Keeping your coolant tank clean is the most important maintenance procedure that you can perform. Keeping the tank clean will improve edge finish and help prevent future problems with your machine.

To ensure optimum performance, this procedure must be performed after 8 hours of operation:

1) Shut off the main power to the machine
2) Remove the pump from the tank and clean the lower section. A high pressure hose may be
needed.
3) Remove and clean the 2 partitions in the coolant tank and drain and clean the coolant tank.
Remove all sediment.
4) Flush all coolant from the hoses and the coolant pan in the center section below the wheels.
5) Clean out the discharge hose.
6) After cleaning the tank, refill it with a mixture of 1 part of  Coolant No. 2651005
coolant, or equivalent and 100 parts of water, or as recommended. For mixing purposes, leaving a 1” (24mm) head
space. The coolant concentrate improves the finish of the grinding (& polishing) operation and inhibits rust formation on the parts of the edger.

Coolant can be purchased in 1 pound increments of a 40 pound pail

We have put together a replacement coolant pump plumbing system shown below:
